ENDING FOSSIL FUELS

President Biden doubletalks about fossil fuels the same way Biden doubletalks about wanting a ceasefire in Gaza.

Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) speaks about President Biden and fossil fuels:
"There was no pledge of any kind to stop building fossil fuel infrastructure.
I have been critical of the Biden administration for greenlighting one fossil fuel
project after another.
We now produce more gas than any other nation.
We export more fossil gas than any other nation.
We produce more oil than any other nation.
Those three things have gone up in the last three years of the Biden administration."

MSNBC Andrea Mitchell - Sen. Jeff Merkley (D) Biden Won't Stop Building Fossil Fuel Infrastructure

SEN. MERKLEY: "Yet we're saying to the world JOIN US! Let's join together and tackle the challenge of climate, yet we're producing more and more fossil fuels. It's really driving young Americans' cynicism and frustration that the U.S. is leading us to climate oblivion."

ANDREA MITCHELL: "At this stage with only a few years left until 2030, is it even possible to reach this goal?"

SEN. MERKLEY: "In terms of one point five degrees, it is not possible."

"If you burn fossil fuels at the rate we are right now,  we will use up the carbon budget in six years.
Which means six years from now we'll have to go to zero carbon.

We're actually increasing the amount of fossils we're burning, increasing the amount of carbon we're putting into the atmosphere....so after 20 years we're still going in the wrong direction.

Each nation says, We'll just better insulate our buildings and sell some electric cars and charging stations, but we want to keep taking all of our fossils out of the ground because that's money for us. Every country says the same thing - doesn't matter where you're at in the world. The result is everybody is producing more fossils, burning more fossils and we're in deep trouble."

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL CREDITS BIDEN WITH INCREASED PROFITS FOR OIL & GAS STOCKHOLDERS

Behold the irony. President Biden has done more to enrich Big Oil and its shareholders than Donald Trump or any other White House occupant in decades. See how his Administration’s crusade to limit U.S. oil and gas production is reaping record profits for Exxon Mobil and other fossil-fuel giants.
